Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will insist on further negotiations between the political powers for overcoming the crisis in the country. This was announced by the Chairman of the Parliament on Friday during the interview with the journalists. “I will insist on continuing negotiations and overcoming the crisis,” he said.
According to Volodymyr Rybak, “the Parliament is a reflection of the processes that are now happening in the country and in the society.”
He reminded about the events of this plenary week before the adoption of the State Budget for 2014 and several more laws. Volodymyr Rybak stressed that he repeatedly tried to find consensus with the opposition factions leaders in order to organize work on consideration of the draft Sate Budget and settling those issues that, according to the opposition leaders, were priority ones. However, according to Volodymyr Rybak, the negotiations resulted in the opposition leaders’ refusal to agree upon something or to continue working. “Unfortunately, for the last months the opposition was more blocking the tribune than working,” he claimed.
Volodymyr Rybak also reminded that on Thursday, before the plenary meeting, the opposition factions representatives blocked the exit from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada office. He expressed his confidence that under such conditions the First Vice Speaker had to and had the right to chair the meeting of the Parliament, and the procedure of adopting bills was legitimate.
The Chairman of the Parliament stressed that, first of all, at the beginning of the next session organizational issues, adopting agenda of the fourth session, issues of country’s social and economic development and bills concerning social initiatives of the President of Ukraine will be discussed.
